Manos Engineering

Sector: Industrial Manufacturing | Category: Copper finned tubing | Geography: South Africa | Contact: Brian Wood

The Challenge

Manos Engineering manufactures bulk air coolers used within South Africa’s underground mining sector. Their production process relies on specialised copper finned tubing where specification, quality consistency, and commercial competitiveness are critical.

Historically, procurement was handled through local South African supply channels, creating cost pressures and limiting sourcing flexibility. In addition, importing directly from overseas was unfamiliar territory.

How FarKing Helped

FarKing assisted Manos Engineering in transitioning from local procurement to direct importing from China. Beyond supply itself, FarKing supported Manos through the practical realities of becoming an importer — explaining import processes, commercial structures and supplier management.

Rather than simply introducing a factory, FarKing helped establish a new sourcing model that expanded procurement capability.

What This Means in Practice

  • Direct factory sourcing of specialised copper finned tubing
  • Transition from local purchasing to direct import procurement
  • Guidance provided through the importing and sourcing process
